Masterpieces of Polish Painting from 18th to 20th century from the collection of the Herbst Palace Museum, branch of the Museum of Art in Łódź

The exhibition includes 45 paintings from the collection of the Herbst Palace Museum, branch of the Museum of Art in Łódź. These include works by Marcello Bacciarelli, Aleksander Orłowski, Piotr Michałowski, Wojciech Gerson, Maksymilian and Aleksander Gierymski, Józef Chełmoński, Jacek Malczewski, Władysław Ślewiński, Olga Boznańska and Józef Pankiewicz - in total, 25 names from the pantheon of Polish painting. The exhibition is not only a wonderful opportunity to come into contact with the most exquisite works of art, but also to trace the transformations of Polish painting - from the time of King Stanisław August Poniatowski, when Baroque still fought with classicism and Bacciarelli was the director of the first professional painting academy in Poland which was established by the king, through romanticism, realism, influences of impressionism and the styles practised in the 20th century.
